Who is Dr. Goldstein?
Dr.
Adam S. Goldstein, DO, FACS, is the Director of Bariatric Surgery for Virtua Health and the Director of Advanced Laparoscopic
Surgery for The
Virtua Voorhees Hospital, in Voorhees, New Jersey.
He is a Board Certified
General and Bariatric Surgeon, fellowship trained in advanced laparoscopic surgery,
licensed to practice medicine in both New Jersey and Illinois, and certified
to use the DaVinci Robotic System to perform minimally invasive surgery.
He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA),
American Society of Bariatric Surgeons (ASBS),
International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO),
Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS),
Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES),
and Medical Society of New Jersey (MSNJ).
He is also an Executive Committee Member of the Camden County Medical
Society (CCMS), and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).

Where did Dr. Goldstein train?
Dr.
Goldstein is a graduate of Cornell
University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological
Sciences, with a minor in business management. Following this, he received
his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New
York College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he achieved honors
in twenty three separate courses, placing him in the top five percent
of his graduating class. He completed his General Surgery Residency
in Chicago, Illinois with the University
of Illinois Metropolitan Group Hospitals Residency in General Surgery,
and his Fellowship in Advanced Minimally Invasive, Robotic, and Bariatric
Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center.
At
the conclusion of his surgical training, Dr. Goldstein was the recipient
of the Resident Achievement Award in Laparoscopic Surgery from the
Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. He has authored numerous publications
and video presentations related to advanced minimally invasive and bariatric
surgery, and has instructed residents and students at the University of
Illinois at Chicago Medical Center, Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Lutheran
General Hospital, and Morristown Memorial Hospital, some of the nation's
leading teaching hospitals. He has also served as a co-founder of the
OsteopathicNet internet site, and as director of the Osteopathic Medical
Education Group of America (OMEGA).
